ULTIMATE TRIATHLON HUSKISSION

The “Big Husky” Triathlon Festival has grown to become one of Australia’s most loved of the ‘Long Course’ events. 2018 marks 13 years of Big Husky excitement and will see athletes compete for the opportunity to be titled Ultimate Australia Champion in their respective categories in the Ultimate Australian Championship.

Huskisson is well known for its mesmerising white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters, this beautiful little beach side town on the NSW South Coast is just a scenic 3 hour drive from Sydney. The laid back small town atmosphere is perfect for a family holiday with a multitude of activities for the kids and a number of great restaurants and cafes for the big kids.

Ultimate Husky also has a packed active festival that includes; Enticer, Enforcer and Sprint distance triathlons, Ocean Swims, Fun Runs, a MINIMAN triathlon for kids and a massive Health and Lifestyle Expo.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

There’s good reason why athletes keep coming back to this course in droves. This picturesque yet challenging course see’s athletes begin with an open water start for a 2km swim in the incredible waters of Jervis Bay. Participants then mount their bikes and head out on a 3 lap undulating bike course through the outskirts of Huskisson and Woollamia. Riders will be spurred on as they ride through the town center lined with spectators in cafes and restaurants. The 2 lap run heads up along the foreshore path across the Moona Moona Bridge and towards Vincentia with spectacular views of Jervis Bay the entire way before approaching the electric finish, lined by hoards of spectators and triathlon clubs.

Ready for an epic season of long-course triathlon? Enter three or more races to receive a 20% discount!

Rules & Guidelines

All athletes MUST compete and comply with Triathlon Australia Rules & Regulations

Event distances will be long-course distance, comprising of a:

  • Swim – up to 1.9km
  • Bike – up to 90km
  • Run – up to 21.1km

Distances may vary due to limitations on courses. Best efforts are always made to ensure leg measurements are as close to the full distance as possible.

The Individual ‘Male & Female’ Age Group formats for the relevant Series are as follows:

  • 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

We also offer the Clydesdale (males 100kg +), Athena (females 80kg +) start waves & Race Ya Mate, but the latter has no podium prizes, only bragging rights!

Team options are also on offer for:

  • All Male
  • All Female
  • Mixed

Athlete Age Group is determined as of 31st December 2016

Race Cut-Off Times

Each of the Ultimate Races will have the following cut-off times from when the athlete started:

  • 1 hour and 15 minutes into T1
  • 4 hours and 45 minutes into T2
  • 7 hours and 30 minutes finish line.
